The Woyo people of Zaire tell a story that is somewhat reminiscent of the Izanami tragedy. It is the story of Mboze, the Great Mother, who, like the Anatolian Cybele and other fertility goddesses, took her son as a lover. She gave birth to a rainbow serpent, the Rain Goddess Bunzi, only to be punished by her husband, Kuitikuiti.Dancer: Leonie Williams From: Tanzania Location: Ses Salinas, Ibiza, Spain Shoot: 11 October 2018 Photographer: Julius Jooste
